MYV382TOKYO – Celebration 2009 – Art Contest!

So much has happened this year for miyavi. Graduation from PSC, the launch of J-glam, marriage to melody., birth of Airi Lovelie Miyavi Ishihara, his second world tour… Who knows what will be next!?

In celebration of this amazing year, Masa Karasu is holding an art contest via our new deviantART account. We would like for YOU, the fans, to submit YOUR artwork. We have prizes for all winners! There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places. ALL pieces submitted will be complied into a video and sent to miyavi!

Here are the themes we are asking to see in your submissions:
1) PSC graduation
2) Marriage to melody.
3) The beginning of J-glam
4) Lovelie’s birth
5) Neo Tokyo Samurai Black World Tour
6) Opening of C.W.I.F.
7) OR ALL OF THE ABOVE!

We want to congratulate miyavi on his amazing year so please pick one or more of these themes for your submission. We will accept many different mediums: paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, textile, ect. But please remember ALL submission will be sent to miyavi himself so don’t be shy~ We want any and all art work to show miyavi our world-wide support.

Judging:
Judging will be done by all the members of the Masa Karasu team by means of voting. Voting will be based on the following criteria:
1) Relevance to one (or more) of the themes
2) Creativity
3) Originality
4) Execution (how it was done)
Each of the above categories will be voted on a scale of 1 to 5. 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. So whoever scores the highest in voting will be the winner (highest possible score is 20). The voting will start the day after the deadline and each submission will be judged individually, not in comparison to other submissions, we want this to be fun and fair! The winner will be announced as soon as the voting is finished. Your art will also be featured on our website.

Prizes:
We have 4 copies of “For Five” magazines with their very first interview (part 1) with miyavi that will go out to the winners (those who score the highest in Judging). This also means that the prizes will have to be mailed to you! Upon winning, Masa Karasu’s owner, Cynthia, will email the winners and ask for a mailing address to send the prize. Your address will be strictly confidential and if you have any concerns we would be happy to hear you out when the time comes. But most importantly, EVERYONE'S submission will be sent to miyavi as a gift from us fans!

Submitting:

If you would like to submit something there are two ways to do it.
1) Via your deviantART account: Please send us a note (subject: “art contest” ) informing us you would like to submit your deviation and give us a link to your art. It will be uploaded to masakarasu382’s deviantART account. You will be given full credit and we will inform others to visit your page to favorite and comment.
2) Via email: we understand that not everyone has a deviantART account so we will also accept submissions via email. Please email elunanuv@masakarasu.net (subject “art contest” ). It will be uploaded to masakarasu382’s deviantART account. You will be given full credit and if you have a website we will inform others to visit it to see your art.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that the subject of your note or email is “Art Contest” so that the message is not confused with a general submission or spam email.
